about

Northern Structure Records presents ‘The Code’ the latest project from Spider Jaroo and Pro P. Following on from last year’s ‘Writing For Commision’ EP the Rapper/Producer duo have are back in full force offering an 11 track album featuring the talents of Bill Sykes of TNC, Assa, Tony Skank, Tash Williams, Old Man Reefer and Analyst.

The production is solely handled by Pro P which showcases a variety of Boombap style beats that have made P a huge hit on the UK and US underground scenes over the years cementing himself as one of the premier hip hop producers operating today.

In terms of concepts and topics the album explores many different ideas including political and sociological Issues (All Rights Reserved, Pictures Of Smiles) and also Global Problems (Lose Our Way). The title track (The Code) is an insight into Jaroo’s dark lyricism and paves the way for tracks such as ‘Infected Kids’, ‘Shame On Ya’ and ‘Hulk in a China Shop’ where the beats are heavy and lyrics hard throughout reminding fans that Jaroo still holds it down in any cypher environment.

The overall approach to the album stems from Jaroo’s time spent in Manchester where he now resides and the artists he has worked with since being there which are highlighted on the Project all bringing to the table the level of talent expected when listening to an NSR Project.

This is the first of many projects to be released from the label this year including the Evileyz ‘Wash Basket’ album, the second instalment to Amos’ ‘Indian Ink’ series produced by Bambu Hands and another two albums under Jaroo’s belt which will be out around summertime.
